High Expectations for 10th Music China

April 1, 2011

This year, Music China will be held from October 11 – 14 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC) in China and is expected by organizers to attract more than 50,000 visitors from around the world.

“This year we are celebrating the 10th edition of Music China and we expect this event to be another record breaking show,” said Evan Sha, deputy general manager, Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd. “More than 90 percent of exhibitors from last year’s show have already agreed to reserve space and some are even looking to expand their booth space. This positive sign shows that the Asian music industry market, particularly in China, remains strong.”

According to the latest statistics from The National Bureau of Statistics, Ministry of Commerce, and General Administration of Customs, both the import and export figures of musical instruments in China last year rose to USD 228 million (27 percent more than 2009) and USD 1,467 million (20 percent more than 2009) respectively, which reflected the strong demand for musical instruments both domestically and internationally.

Music China 2011, the sister show of Musikmesse held in Germany, is organised jointly by the China Music Instrument Association (CMIA), INTEX Shanghai and Messe Frankfurt, and runs concurrently with Prolight and Sound Shanghai, an International Exhibition for the Event and Communication Technology, AV-Production and Entertainment industries.
