Hal Leonard Welcomes Boys & Girls Club Members for Tour
Last week, Hal Leonard Corporation hosted high school and middle school students from the Daniels-Mardak Boys & Girls Club in Milwaukee.
The teens touring the headquarters were involved in the CareerLaunch® and Money Matters programs at the Club. Both programs are part of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s Education and Career Development initiatives, which enable youths to become proficient in basic educational disciplines, apply learning to everyday situations, and embrace technology to achieve success in a career.
The Club members and staff got a first-hand look at the wide range of employment opportunities that exist within any business, and the unique skill sets that positions in different departments require. They learned the many steps in the development of a Hal Leonard publication, and were even treated to a sneak-preview piano performance of a not-yet-published piece of sheet music.
Hal Leonard chairman and CEO Keith Mardak, a longtime supporter of the Boys & Girls Clubs, says, “You can talk about what a company does, and the skills you need to succeed in a career, but seeing these things in action is an entirely different experience. We’re happy to open our offices to show these kids what our company is all about. You never know what will ignite a spark.”
