Van Halen Donates Guitars to LA Music Programs

Eddie Van Halen recently donated 75 of his own electric guitars to music programs at public schools in and around Los Angeles.

Van Halen teamed up with Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation to distribute the guitars in schools that have insufficient numbers of instruments for students to play.

“Music is the universal language,” Van Halen said in a statement. “It has the ability to transcend and convey every human emotion that exists without saying a word. Music kept me off the streets and out of trouble and gave me something that was mine that no one could take away from me.”
