MakeMusic Announces Partnership with AMP

June 28, 2012

MakeMusic, Inc. (NASDAQ: MMUS), creators of SmartMusic learning software, announced it has partnered with AMP: The Association of Music Parents, which was formed to ensure that music and the arts remain an integral part of the nation’s core education system.

As a charter sponsor, MakeMusic will support AMP’s mission to mobilize parents of school-aged students, as well as concerned citizens, teachers and music industry supporters. For $12 per year, AMP members receive access to information and resources designed to assist members in keeping their schools’ music and arts programs strong.

After 26 years as CEO and president of Bands of America and Music For All, Inc., AMP founder and CEO L. Scott McCormick took his passion for protecting music and arts education in a new direction with the formation of AMP: The Association of Music Parents.

“SmartMusic provides an amazingly efficient way to teach, learn and track the progress of music assignments for teachers and parents,” said McCormick. “But perhaps most importantly, SmartMusic makes practicing fun for our students. MakeMusic helps us prepare our children for the 21st century through technology and by supporting the myriad benefits of music education. AMP is thrilled to partner with MakeMusic.”
