July 3, 2012

CremonaFiere S.p.A. (CremonaFiere), the Italian organizer of numerous industry leading trade fairs and of Mondomusica – since 2001one of the world’s most prestigious annual exhibit of handcrafted musical instruments – has announced the launch of the first edition of MondomusicaNewYork.

MondomusicaNewYork will be an exhibit specifically conceived for the U.S. audience and market and that mirrors the world’s prominent Mondomusica event, which every year takes place in Cremona, Italy, the birthplace of violin making tradition. The event attracts string instrument experts, dealers, amateur and professional musicians, music schools and students, collectors, investors, as well as music enthusiasts from around the globe. The first edition of MondomusicaNewYork will be held March 15-17, 2013 at the Metropolitan Pavilion in New York City’s Chelsea area.

Antonio Piva, CremonaFiere chairman, explained that Mondomusica exceptional and consistent success has led this event to be recognized worldwide as a unique and prestigious setting where art, string instrument-making tradition, culture and business successfully converge and blend. After conducting extensive research on the impressive growth of the U.S. market both in terms of quality output and volume, CremonaFiere decided it was time to create an event designed exclusively for the American market.

“We’re delighted to announce the launch MondomusicaNewYork. We conceived this initiative as the premier cultural and commercial string instruments event for the world’s most important marketplace-the U.S.,” Piva stated.
