MIAC Postpones Calgary Show, Commences Strategic Review
The Music Industries Association of Canada (MIAC) announced yesterday (Friday, July 13) that its proposed regional conference and roadshow in Calgary, previously announced for the Fall of 2012, has been postponed.
MIAC also announced it is undertaking a strategic review of its overall services and capabilities, with the aim of aligning the Association and its operations more closely with the needs of its members.
Dale Kroke, chairman of the MIAC Board of Directors, explained, “At our Board meeting on August 14 in Toronto we will be looking at all aspects of our business model, from funding sources to membership services and trade show operations. In challenging times we have to insure we are aligned with what our membership expects and that we can provide cost-effective solutions through the Association. At this critical time for our organization we invite any member who would like to contribute their thoughts or ideas to contact anyone on the Board of Directors or the MIAC office.”
