Trade Regrets: Ethel Merker
Ethel Merker’s career highlights include acclaimed symphonic performances, radio and TV jingle gigs, and teaching several well-known music educational programs over the years. As a female musician in Chicago in the 1940s, Merker’s accomplishments are all the more impressive. She was a pioneer who paved the way for, and inspired, those who followed in her footsteps. Specific to the MI industry, Ethel Merker is most notable for having been asked by G. LeBlanc to create the now popular Merker French horn.
