Peavey Hollywood Showroom Grand Opening
Peavey® Electronics celebrated the grand opening of the Peavey Hollywood showroom on Sunset Boulevard at the heart of Guitar Row on Sept. 1-5. The weeklong event featured appearances from company founder Hartley Peavey as well as world-renowned musicians, celebrities and live performances.
Musicians and music fans packed into the new showroom—lined with the amplifiers, guitars and sound reinforcement gear that have made Peavey an icon in music and audio—for a meet-and-greet with Hartley Peavey. The opening also featured live performances from Alex Skolnick and Monte Montgomery, an appearance by Black Veil Brides, and a signing with comics legend Stan Lee, who autographed Peavey Marvel guitars.
During the opening week, the Peavey Hollywood stage hosted performances from the Alex Skolnick Trio and Monte Montgomery through a professional Peavey sound system featuring two Versarray™ 112 ribbon-driven line array enclosures and one Versarray 218 subwoofer per side, powered by Crest Audio® Pro 200™ Series power amps. The Digitool® Live, an 8×8 loudspeaker management system from Peavey Architectural Acoustics®, processes the audio while a Crest Audio X18R™ mixer controls front of house and provides monitor mixes to four EU™ 112 wedges.
When not used for performances, the stage system is part of an intuitive loudspeaker demo featuring popular Peavey models, configured and controlled via Peavey MediaMatrix®. Using the MediaMatrix NWare™ Mobile iOS app, users can select the speakers and track, as well as adjust volume and other playback parameters, from a custom interface on an iPad®.
A section of the showroom is dedicated to the history and philosophy of Hartley Peavey, the industry’s longest-running founder, sole owner and CEO, who built his first amplifier as a teenager in 1957 and has earned countless accolades and more than 180 patents for his achievements in music product innovation and international business.
