Trade Regrets: Danny Henkin
On November 8th, Danny Henkin, former owner of CG Conn and 26 other musical instrument companies over the course of his career, passed away in Elkhart, Ind. at the age of 82.
Henkin’s career in the industry began in the 1950s when he served as the ad man for LeBlanc. He then worked for CG Conn, which he would purchase years later, along with Armstrong Flutes, King Band Instruments, and Slingerland Drums, among others.
Earlier this year Danny donated his large collection of business papers and photographs to the NAMM Resource Center to compliment the series of Oral History interviews conducted with Danny beginning in 2001.
