The 2011 Retail Print Music Dealers Association convention, held in sunny Tampa, Florida from April 28-30, walked the line between a relaxing escape and an intense, focused examination of the ever-evolving best practices in the print music industry.
This year’s conference, which ran from April 6 to 9 in unusually nice weather, represented somewhat of a turnaround since the beginning of the financial crisis that has rocked the world during the past several years.
This summer in Nashville, representatives from the Tonal Innovation Center (TONIC), a project funded mainly by the European Social Fund, will be presenting and opening discussions about the use of sustainable materials for musical instruments.
This year’s annual conference in was the largest in Asia, and featured a wealth of industry seminars, as well as a record breaking number of exhibitors (over 1,200 )from 27 countries for the Music China show and 400 exhibitors from 19 countries for ProLight and Sound.
