We Play Well Together has announced the schedule for its 2026 Live Monochord Monday Meetups. The free Zoom series offers guided sessions on using the monochord for self-care and musical development. The next meetup takes place Jan. 19 at 9 a.m. PT, 10 a.m. MT, 11 a.m. CT and noon ET.

The Jan. 19 session features special guest Deborah Segel, owner of Segel Violins in Troy, N.Y. Segel discovered meditative practices using the monochord during the pandemic. In this session, she will guide participants in opening their ears while playing the instrument. Segel noted the monochord sounds may be considered simple, but they are much more complex and interesting the more one listens carefully.

The 2026 series runs monthly from January through June and September through December. Scheduled dates include Jan. 26, Feb. 23, March 23, April 20, May 18, June 15, Sept. 21, Oct. 29, Nov. 16 and Dec. 14. Sessions are held at 9 a.m. PT.

Martin Ackermann, a sound facilitator based in Renens, Switzerland, previously led the community webinar. Ackermann is an officially licensed feeltone trainer offering instruction in French and German. He is a practicing yogi who studied religion at the University of Bern. Ackermann introduced finger warm-up exercises that prepare users to play the monochord with more ease and beauty.

The techniques featured in the series include guided hand-massage exercises designed to prepare users to play with ease. The company states these techniques serve as a de-stress method for anyone who uses their hands.
